Rivers of oil

Just a little gallery of images for those of you in your Hummers coasting along the nations highways, bemoaning the high cost of gasoline.
The BBC shows the devastating effect that the discovery of oil in Nigeria is having on the land and its population. Sure, the government earns US$10billion annually, but the people remain mired in poverty, and Shell Oil’s decision to burn off the natural gas rather than refine it, repeated oil spills and very lax equipment maintenance is causing untold environmental damage.
It’s all fixable… but Shell needs to step up to the plate and clean up the mess they’re making.
