An eye for an eye

The FDA approved implantable contact lenses today, clearing the way for those who don’t think the idea of lasering their retinas is a good idea to instead slice open their eye and stick a piece of plastic between the cornea and the iris.
The new procedure is not without risks. The FDA doesn’t know exactly what happens to your vision if the lens is removed later, plus they say the lens could cause the loss of corneal cells.
Also, your eyes could fall out. And your head might explode and you could have excessive bleeding from the nose, ears and hair follicles. And… oh, near-certain death due to something called “eye flatulence.”*
*Not really.
