Same sex, different sex: Same difference.

When faced with the question of what to do about same-sex marriages and church canon, the leaders of St. Thomas’s Episcopal Church in New Haven, Connecticut have come up with a novel solution. Rather than offer gay couples a non-binding, non-legal non-marriage, the church isn’t allowing any marriages at all.
In fact, no gay couples have asked to be married there, and only about five different-sex couples get married there in a year, but the church’s lay leaders decided that the most powerful way they could protest what they see as an injustice is to deny the religious ritual to anyone until the discrimination ends.
The primary backers of the protest were not the gay members of the church, but heterosexual couples with children in the church’s day school.
