We’re rolling back labor laws to 1911!*

Local mom’n’pop shop Wal-Mart has very quietly settled a 24-count child labor lawsuit for $135,000.00. Lemmee spell that out so there’s no confusion, that’s one hundred and thirty five THOUSAND dollars, or roughly what their lawyer found between the couch cushions that morning as he was zipping up after being fellated by a small El Salvadorean boy.
But wait there’s so much more:

A provision also promises to give Wal-Mart 15 days’ notice before the Labor Department investigates any other “wage and hour” accusations, like failure to pay minimum wage or overtime.

That’s three weeks notice folks. Three weeks to fire up an assload of Foreman grills and do some book cookin’. I smell me some freedom.
* Extra credit for the socialists in the audience: 1911 was the year of the infamous Triangle Shirt Tail Factory fire where 146 employees, most of them underage immigrant girls, were burned to death when a fire overtook the 9th floor of the building. They were unable to exit because management had chained the exits shut to prevent them from taking breaks. Oh, my bad… some of them jumped to their deaths.
