The high cost of eating less

Forbes has an interesting set of articles about the world of diets, including profiles of leading diet gurus and an examination of just how much dough you’ll put out to eat less dough.
Unsurprisingly, the diet systems that require you to purchase special food from the company (i.e. Jenny Craig, NutiSystem, Weight Watchers) will cost you between 77.5% and 152.8% more than eating like the rest of us. The so-called Subway diet fares best, cost-wise, although one would think you’re going to get awfully tired of eating nothing but cheeseless, mayo-less turkey sandwiches every friggin’ meal.
But as one doctor put it, “Let’s face it, this is the only growth industry in the United States where most of the customers fail.”
