Fat = Fit

Thanks to this New York Times article and the National Cancer Institute and teh Centers for Disease Control, I now feel a lot better about being a little fat.
A new study suggests that people carrying slightly more weight than your average person — although how they determined who is average is not mentioned — will live longer. A helpful chart advises you to divide your weight in pounds by the square of your height in inches, then multiply the result by 703 (for some reason) to get your body mass index. This number (mine being 25.1 for those interested in everything about me) tells you where you are on the scale, and also, apparently, whether you’re headed for a long life of paying bills and wondering what the hell the Republicans are up to, or one cut mercifully short, saving you from the impending super volcanic eruption under Yellowstone or the super earthquake up near Seattle.
