Poll: War! What is good for? (Absolutely) Nothin’! (Say it again!)

A Washington Post-ABC News poll shows that Americans who answer polls are finally waking up to the fact that the war in Iraq isn’t really accomplishing anything worthwhile, with nearly 60% now saying that the war isn’t worth fighting.
52% think the country is no safer than it was before the war started, and 52% disapprove of the job Shrub is doing as president. 56% think the Republican-lead Congress is a bunch of shitheads (though they blame the shithead Democrats in Congress by the same numbers, just to be fair-minded), and 55% say that Bush has done more to divide the country than to unite it.
While Republics lean toward the man’s war record by 75%, and Democrats lean away by the same margin, it’s the self-proclaimed Independent voters who are swaying the results, with 60% of them giving the president negative marks in his “war on terror.”
Elsewhere on the president’s agenda, only 33% agree with his stand on stem-cell research, but they split down the middle on his juducial nominees and drilling for oil in the Alaskan Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Fully 90% said they enjoyed reading whilst crapping, but only 5% could adequately explain the popularity of Paris Hilton.
